Packaging design
Packaging for Ireland
Ireland has a strong food and drink sector, from craft spirits and whiskey to chocolate, baked goods and dairy, plus growing beauty and wellness brands. Many sell into the UK and the wider EU, so labels often need to work across different rule sets.
For Irish whiskey, gin and gifting, premium presentation boxes and tubes are common. We design and make rigid gift boxes with bottle-shaped inserts that ship safely.
Irish brands are often closely tied to place: a distillery, a farm, a coastline. Packaging that tells that story clearly, through illustration, typography and materials, helps them stand out in export markets. We design provenance-led packaging and labels that work at home and abroad.

Labelling and compliance
Labelling in Ireland
Ireland applies EU labelling rules, with food labelling guidance and enforcement led by the FSAI. English is the usual language for mandatory information. Because Ireland is in the EU while Northern Ireland follows many EU rules and Great Britain does not, brands selling on both islands need to plan labels carefully.

- EU food and cosmetics labelling rules apply.
- English is used for mandatory information; Irish can be added.
- An EU-based responsible business must be named on food and cosmetics.
- Packaging EPR obligations through Repak for many producers.
- Deposit return scheme for many drinks containers.

FAQ
Questions from Ireland
- Do Irish labels follow EU or UK rules?
- Ireland follows EU rules. If you also sell in Great Britain, UK rules apply there, so plan for both.
- Do you make whiskey and gin gift boxes?
- Yes. We make rigid tubes and presentation boxes with fitted inserts, from 500 units.
- Do I need to register with Repak?
- Many businesses placing packaging on the Irish market must meet EPR obligations, often through Repak. Check your obligations.
- Can labels include Irish as well as English?
- Yes. We can lay out bilingual labels from the text you supply.
- Who handles customs for shipments to Ireland?
- Your customs broker handles the import declaration, VAT and duty.
- Can packaging tell the story of where my product is made?
- Yes. We use illustration, typography, materials and short copy to communicate provenance.
- Which currency will my quote be in?
- Tell us your preferred currency when you ask for a quote. We confirm the currency and payment terms in the quote itself.
- Air or sea: which should I choose?
- Air for launches and urgent stock; sea for production volumes where the timeline allows. We quote both so you can compare.
- Can collapsible rigid boxes reduce my shipping cost?
- Yes. They ship flat, so many more fit in each carton, which cuts freight volume and storage. We compare assembled and flat options in your quote.
