When a packaging refresh makes sense
A packaging refresh is worth doing when something has changed: new competitors on the shelf, a move from online to retail, a product range that has grown without a system, rising costs, or packaging that no longer matches the price you charge. It is rarely worth redesigning just because the team is tired of the current look.
We start with an audit. We look at your packaging beside competitors, in online thumbnails, in customers' hands and on a cost sheet. The audit tells us which parts of your packaging carry recognition and which parts are holding you back.
Packaging rebrand or evolution?
A packaging rebrand changes the identity: logo, colours, tone and often structure. An evolution keeps the identity and improves how it is used: clearer hierarchy, a better range system, updated finishes. Most brands need an evolution; a full rebrand makes sense when the business itself has changed.
We show both routes when it is not obvious. Concepts are presented beside your current pack, so you can see how much recognition each option keeps and decide with real comparisons rather than descriptions.
How to redesign packaging without losing customers
When you redesign packaging, your loyal customers need to find you again. We protect the cues they look for, often a colour, a logo position, a shape or a pattern, unless there is a strong reason to change them. Changes are tested at shelf distance, where recognition really happens.
A redesign is also a chance to reduce cost. We review box sizes, board grades, finishes and print processes, and often find savings that help pay for the project. Because we make boxes in our own factory, those savings are priced, not estimated.
Rollout and production
We plan the changeover SKU by SKU so existing stock is used before new packaging arrives. Retailers and marketplaces may need advance notice and new images, so we include those in the plan.
You share your current packaging, sales data if available, the reasons for change and your markets. We reply with questions and a fixed quote, deliver the audit and concepts, usually within 48 hours of an agreed brief for first concepts, and produce the new boxes from 500 units.
