Flexible pouch packaging, designed for its shape
Flexible pouch packaging changes shape when it is filled. The front bulges, the gusset widens and the top seal and zip take space. We design with your supplier's template and a filled-pouch mockup, so the logo and product name sit where they will actually be seen.
We plan for the features that affect layout: tear notches, zips, valves for coffee, hang holes and windows. Nothing important is placed where a seal or zip will cover it.
Common pouch design formats
The common pouch design formats are stand-up pouches with a bottom gusset, flat-bottom or box pouches, side-gusset bags and flat sachets. Each holds a different amount of product and offers a different printable area. We help you choose the format that suits your product, shelf and budget.
Flat-bottom pouches give more front area and stand very well; stand-up pouches are cost-effective and familiar; sachets suit samples and single servings. We can design a range that uses several formats and still looks like one family.
Materials, windows and finishes
Pouch materials range from glossy and matte films to kraft paper laminates and recyclable mono-material structures. Each changes how colours look and how the pouch feels. We design with your chosen material in mind and can suggest options that suit your positioning.
Windows show the product but reduce the space for graphics. Matte and gloss varnish combinations, metallic inks and white underprint can make a pouch look premium. We prepare all of these on separate, clearly labelled layers.
How our stand up pouch design process works
You send your product, pouch format, supplier template, required text and references. We reply with questions and a fixed quote, then present concepts on filled-pouch mockups, usually within 48 hours of an agreed brief.
Final files are prepared for your pouch supplier. If you also need retail cartons, display boxes or shipping boxes, we design and make them in our own factory from 500 units.
